Top 5 budget Christmas events in Kuala Lumpur

Top 5 budget Christmas events in Kuala Lumpur

This is a season to be jolly. If you are away from family, away from the white Christmas you are used to back home, dont fret. Kuala Lumpur is well equipped to get you in the holiday chistmassy mood. We do have roasted turkeys, Christmas markets and awesome deals to welcome the birth of Christ and lightened the lonely mood when you’re abroad alone. Christmas is all about surrounding yourself with people, having a good meal and celebrate the red bearded man with a giant sack of presents. We cant promise that Christmas will be the same as where you are from but we do have the spirit in us to do it the Malaysian way. ( We dont have chimneys in our houses… so yeah, it will be done differently on this side of town)

1) The Attic Bar, Chinatown

The Attic Bar tucks itself away from the busy night streets of the Chinatown market. The bar has a definite wow factor because of its location and its beautiful decorated bar hidden from plain sight. Heading up the twirling staircase in Travel Hub Highstreet induces suspense before arriving at the place which gives it a great persona. The Attic bar offers great Christmas deals with personalized punch bowls and Christmas themed shots. The bar also offers games and excellent prizes to be won which includes a bottle of Bols Genever gin, awesome freebies and many more. Join them for a very merry Christmas with the crowd of backpacking travelers from the guesthouse below.

2) Central Market, Kuala Lumpur

Not far from the Attic Bar, the prominent and history rich central market is the center of craft and heritage. This market dates back to the late 1800’s and it was a wet market before it is converted to an indoor craft’s and heritage center in the 1980’s. Well this Christmas, Central markets have a number of activities to liven up the mood. Santa Clause will clear his schedule and make an appearance here along with activities that jolly man will highly approve. Workshops on handmade Chirstmas garlands and gingerbread houses will be on this nice list.

3) Suria KLCC’s Enchanted Christmas

One of the unique things we have are the immense number of shopping malls in the city. Contrary to having outdoor shopping districts, the weather is not in favor for this arrangement. We flock to the nearest air conditioned mall for most of our weekends and it has not only been a center for shopping but it has been a place of interest where most Malaysians gather. Arguably, shopping centers up one another with the grandest decor and activities. Suria KLCC is one of the most prominent shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur. With a ton of activities spanning up to a month’s advance, their Christmas festive vibe is one of the best.

4) Kuala Lumpur Pub Crawl Christmas Special.

If you are into pub crawls, this is going to be a festive treat for you. Kuala Lumpur Pub Crawl is having an awesome walk around with numerous games with 5 hot drinking spots. With attendance of about 50 people and maybe more, you can meet people from all over the world, get mingling and have a very warm celebration with your new peers. Signing up is super easy and the price is absolutely a steal to participate at RM 70 inclusive of drinks.

5) Christmas is in the Air in Pavillion Shopping Center

Another strong contender of shopping center Christmas festivities, Pavilion likes to blow out their decoration in insane proportions. Triumphing in uniqueness of activities, the conventional Christmas activities such as gingerbread house building and Santa’s lap sitting, Pavillion’s activities is the talk of the town. Tango dancing displays, all month round Christmas bands and special appearances by local celebrities are just a hint of the available events leading up to the day itself. Pop by Pavilion Shopping Center and join in the fun and festivities.
